So you’re travelling to Paros Island Greece and you want to know where to eat the best food in Paros? Well, get your palette cleansers ready for a feast of flavours because you’ll want to visit ALL OF THESE best places to eat in Paros during your stay.
The beauty of visiting a culture that is unlike your own is diving full force into and embracing their authentic way of life. With Greeks it’s a lot about slow mornings with a coffee and cigarette in hand (okay maybe without the cigarettes…) It’s a non-rigid approach to living, one more spontaneous and in the moment. The Greek culture is about socialising, togetherness, and good vibes.
NOTE: Not to toot our own horn (I promise I’m not being biased) but the Greek hospitality is often unmatched. Albeit sometimes with a little attitude though nevertheless always striving to ensure that when you dine you get the full experience and leave feeling happy, full, and well maybe a little tipsy…
This Paros food guide will bypass the guessing game of choosing where to eat and ensure you will not fall into any tourist traps. After all, I want you to enjoy the best food in Paros the way the locals know it, and I like it.

Things to know when dining in Greece:
Meal Times:
In Greece, you’ll quickly realise that eating times often differ from those outside of Europe or what you are generally used to. Breakfast is usually non-existent a lot of the time but if they do choose to have something it’s a coffee and pastry or a light snack. You may find some cafes also serving up Greek omelettes, toasts and the INFAMOUS Strapatsada (Eggs scrambled with tomatoes and feta cheese). It is mouthwatering and a seriously epic combination.
Lunch is anywhere from and between 1 pm – 3 pm, while Dinner will follow shortly after a siesta and is usually from 8 pm onwards (maybe even stretching to 9/10 pm).
I only say this because at times it can come as a shock when either;
- The restaurants aren’t open before 7 or,
- You see the venues looking quiet and wonder what’s going on.
In summer, Europeans really do drag out their days so unless the sun has set, they’re probably still at the beach or resting from a day out in the blistering heat. It can be exhausting after all right?
Portion Sizes:
If you haven’t been to Greece before then it’s worth mentioning the types of portions you can expect when you dine out.
They will vary from place to place but generally, you are always fed WELL. This means that you’ll always be greeted with a bread basket, in which you’ll indulge with some olive oil and salt (TIP: sprinkle sea salt flakes in the oil and then dip your bread), and before you know it the basket is finished before the Mezethes (small sharing plates) have arrived. The salads are usually large, and the mains are ALWAYS accompanied by sides that at times aren’t mentioned on the menu. Make sure to ask your waiter before ordering extras guys, you’ve been warned.
The best restaurants in Paros Greece will also usually serve complimentary fruits or desserts with the bill/receipt and local and/or traditional spirits/liquors of that island or region. It’s all in the detail.
So you can see how easy it is to eat way beyond your means in Greek Restaurants, however, if you’re unsure have a look at the venues’ socials or images of their food to judge how big your appetite needs to be!
Now, Let’s dig into the best places to eat in Paros, Greece.

Kargas also has vegetarian selections such as Greek Salad and Haloumi Pitas! Add this first to your Paros foodie hit list.
- Almond Paros | $ – Almond Living Well Workshop has opened its doors to Paros and welcomes you for Breakfast, Brunch, and everything in between! We stumbled upon this absolute gem in April 2023 when I was on the search for Specialty Coffee. Almond was a staple, and each morning we’d get the finest coffee on Paros island and indulge in some seriously good brekkie and smoothies! Think Smoked Salmon Benedicts, creamy yoghurt bowls, and delectable homemade brownies. Get your dose of fresh food at Almond during your stay in Paros!
- Kafeneion – i Palia Agora | $ – Ask the locals where to get the best Keftedakia (Fried Meatballs) and they will direct you straight to Kefeneion I Palia Agora. A simple no fuss, no reservations type of taverna. With brown paper table cloths, and freshly baked bread on the table, you know you are in for an authentic meal that someone’s Yiayia (Grandmother in Greek) has whipped up for her grandchildren coming over for dinner. Try all the Mezethes (small sharing dishes) you can, the more the merrier. Our pick is the stuffed onions (Salantourmasi in Greek), Keftedakia *of course*, Zucchini Balls, Dolmades (Vine leaves stuffed with rice)… okay maybe everything.
- Taverna Glafkos | $$ – Glafkos can be easy to miss but you’ll want to find this gem and dine here during your stay. It boasts incredible views of the water and you’ll be dining seaside in style. Seafood is primarily your go-to here, so expect tender octopus marinated in vinegar, fresh seafood pasta and simply paired grilled seafood mains. Why not enjoy a bottle of wine while you’re at it!
- To Takimi | $ – To Takimi (Music cafe) is another traditional yet exciting taverna in our Paros food guide. Not only are you blessed with mouthwatering dishes but if you’re there of a night time, will enjoy live music and you may just even get up and dance with the locals! I say be brave. Takimi Taverna has undoubtedly some of the best food in Paros, with a selection of Starters, Meat, and seafood. The Octopus in red wine sauce was so good I had to mop the sauce up with bread. Another favourite was Melitzanosalata (Greek eggplant dip) and the Meatballs. To tell you the truth, it’s all good…
- Soso | $$ – Soso is a quaint family-run Restaurant in Naoussa that is nestled within a beautiful but quiet street within the town. Another no-fuss venue where you can enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner. I’m just dreaming about the tender Octopus that is served over Fava Dip (Greek yellow split pea dip) with a generous drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive oil. It makes my mouth water. Be sure to call ahead to reserve as there is usually a line of people waiting to be seated, and we know you’ll want to add this to your Paros food tour, so what are you waiting for?
- Tsachpinis – Ouzeri ton Nautikon | $$ – Tsachpinis is in the most iconic spot in Naoussa town, where a myriad of the best restaurants in Paros sit beside one another in the most pristine spot overlooking bobbing wooden boats and a view of the Venetian Castle in the harbour. It is situated in and around the nightlife hub and without a doubt where everyone wants to be seen. This restaurant feels like the authentic Paros, where freshly caught fish of the day is served along with small sharing plates, a constant flow of house wines, and the taste of high-quality ingredients still lingering on your lips long after your meal. TIP: There’s a focus on fish mezze such as the sought-after dish, Gouna (Charcoal-Grilled Mackerel) which has been dried in the sun for 5-6 hours. DELISH!
- Yemeni – Wine Restaurant | $$/$$$ – Yemeni is a restaurant in Naoussa focused on traditional foods with a modern twist in presentation and pairings. The quality is divine and fresh, and you can’t leave without trying the seafood. Think crisp Charcoal Grilled Octopus with a soft centre and a buttery flaky sea bass that falls off the bone… YUM! Nestled within the labyrinth that is Naoussa Paros, find your way to Yemeni for a delectable dinner (Be sure to reserve ahead… it’s a favourite).
- Stilvi | $$/$$$ – For some of the best food in Paros and something on the more fine dining, and experimental side, Stilvi is the place for you (and me). It brings a little of the Mykonos vibe with an earthy and lively interior. As the music creeps up further into the night and the crowd starts to stir, you know you’re in for a fun night. I’ll take a serving of the Pistachio Risotto, please!
- Siparos | $$/$$$ – Siparos has to be the most memorable restaurant that we dined in during our trip last spring and dare I say one of (if not), the best restaurants in Paros Greece! This Modern Greek dining spot just hits the nail on the head when combining traditional ingredients with a twist. It’s a flavour explosion in your mouth… I know I’m sorry to put it this way, but there’s no other way to describe it.

Hidden Gems in the Paros Food Guide:
- Tsitsanis – Ο ΤΣΙΤΣΑΝΗΣ (Prodromos) | $ – Take a trip to Prodromos to eat at one of the best restaurants in Paros Greece! Tsitsanis Tavern has been family-run since 1969 where it originated as a coffee bar where locals would flock for their daily cuppa (cup of coffee), to play cards and sip on Ouzo while they were at it. Now Tsitsanis serves some of the tastiest and best food in Paros. There is a larger focus on grilled meats but the standout is their oven-baked chickpea stew with a generous squeeze of lemon on top *kisses lips in Italian style*… amazing!
- Katsouna Tavern (Small Santa Maria) | $ – A resident farmhouse courtyard turned into a successful and authentic tavern, I’m intrigued. Katsouna Tavern boasts authentic Paros, with typical delicacies which include the Katsouna Salad, a Barley Bun topped with grated tomato and cheese and capers, Seafood Pastas and more! The fish is fresh-caught and the meat is produced by the family farm. Traditional and one of the best restaurants in Paros.
- Klarinos Tavern (Lefkes) | $ – Klarinos was the first restaurant I visited on my 2019 Paros food tour and it was so beautiful to sit on the Verandah and look out into the vast mountain landscape. Klarinos incorporate a farm-to-table approach as they use their own produce and if demand arises, get their produce from Naxos, where quality and agriculture are highly respected. After spending hours getting lost in Lefkes, come here for a feed or add it to your Paros food guide.
- Ouzeri Halaris (Piso Livadi) | $$ – For some good old Seafood (or more seafood… it’s an island thing) Ouzeri Halaris is THE PLACE. Get out of the towns and find your way to the shores of the fishing village Piso Livadi and dive into FRESH and beautifully aromatically cooked seafood, it’s some of the best food in Paros. The restaurant is almost always booked out in peak season, so book ahead!
- Mario Restaurant & Farm (New location in Parikia) | $$/$$$ – I’ve saved a golden nugget for last (typical of me). Mario is easily one of the best restaurants in Paros Greece for many reasons. It is an establishment which blends Greek flavours harmoniously with contemporary techniques. If you truly want to immerse yourself in a culinary journey that is enhanced by local and sustainable Parian produce, book your table right now! The ambience is light, raw and refined. It is a truly elevated Greek Island dining experience. The menu is colourful and exciting and boasts some of the best food in Paros. Taramosalata (Greek fish roe dip) with dill oil? C’mon, I’m drooling guys.
